ROCK / METAL

The year 2000 spawned a new metal sensation from Perth, Western Australia. Danny Estrin, joined by Mark DeVattimo and Adam Lovkis, formed and began to play a style of music unheard of in Perth - melodic metal. Back then, Danny was still playing guitars in the band, before he realised that his talents lay behind the keyboard. A new guitarist was found in Emanuel Rudnicki (ex Black Steel), who was soon complemented by Jennah Graeig on bass. The band’s first show was a huge success, paving the way for a career full of accolades.

With Jennah being replaced by Melissa Fiocco and Geoff Callaghan taking the drum throne, the band soon released their album ‘ELEMENT V’ in 2003, which was picked up by Dutch label DVS Records and distributed throughout the world in 2004. ‘Element V’ was critically acclaimed throughout the world and became very popular in Japan.   were hailed as one of the hottest newcomers to the metal scene.

Later that year, VOYAGER scored the Australian support for STEVE VAI and followed this up with tours to the East Coast of Australia. The band released their limited edition single ‘Sober’ in 2006, followed by various high profile supports and picking up several Australian music industry awards on the way. The band however didn’t stop there, giving a stellar performance at ProgPower UK 2006 in the Netherlands with the likes of SCAR SYMMETRY and RIVERSIDE and finally recording their second full length album ‘uniVers’ in 2006/2007.

VOYAGER parted ways with DVS Records in 2007 and released ‘uniVers’, its second full album, on DOCKYARD 1 Records Germany, followed by another European Tour through Denmark, Switzerland, Netherlands, Germany and the UK.

Describing VOYAGER’s music has given music critics many sleepless nights. Germany’s ROCK HARD magazine described it as “just like science fiction television series VOYAGER…, this is a journey into undiscovered sonic territories. A must for fans of NIGHTWISH and RHAPSODY”. With influences ranging from SOILWORK to BAL SAGOTH, from RACHMANINOFF to DEVIN TOWNSEND and from RAINBOW to EVERGREY, if it’s unique you want, it’s unique you get!

VOYAGER’s long-awaited follow-up album ‘uniVers’ is a melting pot of heavy, catchy melodies guaranteed to shake the metal world. VOYAGER’s ‘uniVers’ is sure to 0storm to the top of heavy melodic music ladder.
