The Voltaire Twins

INDIE / ELECTRO POP

THE are Jaymes and Tegan Voltaire. Though the twin brother/sister duo are yet to release anything officially, their bedroom demos and live reputation has earned them coveted supports and international attention.

They were the support act for seminal UK electroclash outfit Ladytron in October 2008, played Parklife alongside the likes of Peaches and Goldfrapp, supported NZ electro-art-rockers So So Modern and clocked up a slew of Aussie supports with Dukes of Windsor, The ELF, Gameboy/Gamegirl and many many more. In September 2008 they won the Triple J Unearthed Parklife competition, followed by regular airplay on Triple J, as well as national media exposure.

Described as a fusion of 8-bit pop and early 80′s electro disco, the aesthetic has been liked to that of Crystal Castles and Depeche Mode, poppy and fun with touches of darkness around the edges.
