The Violet Flames are a 3-piece indie/rock act based in Melbourne, originally hailing from Perth, Western Australia. 2008 has been a huge year for the band and has seen them support Bon Jovi at Subiaco Oval in front of 28,000 people winning a listener-voted radio competition, receive high rotation radio-play on Perth’s 96FM with their debut single ‘Come On’, and had said single selected for inclusion on a U.S. college radio compilation CD entitled Spring Surge – Volume 3. ”Catchy feel good tunes and hooky riffs” (Triple J).
After witnessing the band live in Perth, Melbourne booking agency Saltar Hype Entertainment quickly offered to get them over to the east to tour. They played 6 shows in 5 days in July 2008 with Dukes Of Windsor and others, and received an overwhelmingly positive response.
That very successful mini-tour, confirmed that Melbourne was to be the band’s new home and prompted a quick relocation. The Violet Flames have already played The Espy (Front bar, Gershwin Room & Basement), Ding Dong Lounge, Peninsula Lounge, Revolver, Ruby’s Lounge, Myer basement (in-store) and have already created a huge buzz on Melbourne’s indie/rock scene, accumulating more and more fans with every performance.
