Tomas Ford Brings His Edinburgh Show To Fringe World

Electronic cabaret showman is bringing his hit Edinburgh Fringe show An Audience With Tomás Ford to Fringe World and Adelaide Fringe in 2013. It is a debauched, hour-long party showcasing Ford’s costume-changing, audio-visual projecting, dance-music crooning, audience-baiting cabaret in its most tightly refined form yet.

The show is filled with party-starting new arrangements of songs familiar to those who have seen him on his many Australian tours, on the Big Day Out’s notorious Lilyworld stage or supporting everyone from Gary Numan to Regurgitator and Birds Of Tokyo. It’s an unpredictable thrill ride, that guides audiences from confusion through to delight and often sees him end his shows carried aloft.

It’s the first Australian dates for Ford’s new show, following its’ debut at the Edinburgh Fringe. The show was nominated alongside five shows for a TO&ST Edinburgh Cabaret Award (the Perrier Award of cabaret), received a very enthusiastic five stars from Time Out London and was listed in The Scotsman’s nine Best Shows Of The Free Fringe. In short, he absolutely killed it. In Perth, the show is being presented at Bok Choy Ballroom, part of Perth’s first independent fringe hub which Tomás Ford is programming and managing with producers JumpClimb. In Adelaide, he’ll be kicking it in legendary warehouse venue the Tuxedo Cat.
