ROCK / POP
Late night rantings about misheard lyrics may have given them their strange name, but their blurry-eyed, caffeine-affected time in Spacejunk Production House with producer Tim Powles (The Church) also gave West Australian band The Woodenelves a debut album that has opened plenty of doors since its release in 2007. ‘Trips Between Worlds’ is the product of Perth singer/songwriter/guitarist Travis Caudle and guitarist Jonathon Tiedtke and the 13-track album hasled to the band attending Canadian Music Week 2008, being invited to CMJ Music Marathon 2008, signing a licensing deal with Undercover Tracks in LA and a worldwide publishing deal with Foghorn Records in Sydney.
‘Trips Between Worlds’ has received airplay on commercial and community radio across Australia (Nova FM network, 96fm, Triple J, 94.5fm, Coast FM WA, RTRfm WA, 8CCCFM 102.1 Northern Territory, FBI 94.5fm NSW, Twin Cities FM WA, Radio Fremantle WA, KCRfm WA, Radio 2DU NSW, 107.3 LIFE FM Qld, PBS 106.7fm Victoria, Ison Live Radio, Satellite Music Australia) as well as college radio station CIUTfm in Toronto.
Video clips for their first two singles have been played on Rage and The Music Jungle. The Woodenelves have racked up a list of supports including: The Black Crowes (US) / Hinder (US) / British India (J Award nominees) / Tim Rogers (You Am I) / Jimmy Barnes / Marty Willson-Piper (The Church) / Angie Hart (ex-Frente) / Sarah McLeod (formerly of Superjesus) /Ash Naylor (Even) / Hugh Cornwell (formerly of The Stranglers) / The Inches (Melbourne) / Borne (Melbourne).
