The Milky Magnets

D.I.Y. Scuzz-pop

The are a bedroom noise pop group led by Alex Griffin. Originating in June 2010, they have since released three EPs, a virtual 7″ and a compilation album, all of which are free on the INTERNET. Influenced by Gustav Klimt, mead and living off welfare, the home recordings of The blend pop, noise and the gaping despair of grown men slashing their faces open with pieces of windshield lifted from an abandoned Volvo. The songs are warmly insular, yet often teetering on the verge of collapse, reflecting the fractured, improvisational manner of their creation.

Sometime in 2011 there will be another full length album and maybe some EPs, as well as a light opera about the play ‘Lysistrata’. There will also hopefully be a live band with drums and stuff.
