ACOUSTIC POP
Sophie Jane has been writing, singing and strumming her own sweet stylings of pop for the past 3 years.
Today, the music of this songstress fuses those pop fundamentals with a touch of indie, a hint of roots and a generous helping of small-town sensibility.
Sophie Jane will be launching her follow-up EP, Unopened, at the Indi Bar on Sunday night July 26th. Support acts include James Teague and The Morning Night (previously Empty State). Sophie Jane will headline the event with special guests; renowned session drummer John Trotter (Lucky Oceans, Luke Steele), bassist Jonathon Taylor (of Aron’s Crusade) and keyboardist Georgie Anderson.
Recently, ‘Broken Glass’ narrowly missed progressing into the final 12 songs of over 2000 song submissions selected by industry judges in ‘The John Lennon International songwriting contest’.
Her independent debut album, Wanted Girl, is a collection of fourteen originals. It was produced in collaboration with some truly spectacular WA musicians, and has received a string of positive feedback from industry professionals.
With gigs ranging from Perth to Albany to Dunsborough to Tamworth, Sophie Jane is a unique and dynamic live performer, with a distinctive sense of style to boot.
