In a genre inundated with bands who “borrow” each other’s sound and style, Perth’s present a unique blend of modern rock that draws well beyond the stylistic influences of their peers. Forming from the embers of Perth rock acts not to be, the group’s membership emanates a natural chemistry across a broad and diverse spectrum of musical styles, drawing comparisons to the likes of At The Drive In, Glassjaw and Deftones.

In the writing of their debut, the band considered the one goal that so many of their colleagues simply fail to acknowledge – to forge honest, challenging music that didn’t sound like everything else. The result is ‘Living Dead’, a six song journey that owes as much to 70s progressive rock as it does to experimental soundscapes.

After less than six months of live performances, have enjoyed supports alongside some of the biggest names in Australian punk, hardcore and rock, playing to capacity crowds with the likes of Closure In Moscow (VIC), The Amity Affliction (QLD), Miles Away (WA) and Break Even (WA). The band recently landed their first international support to a packed Amplifier Bar sharing the stage with punk rockers Senses Fail (USA).

Priding themselves on their incendiary live show, Sleepwalker’s debut ‘Living Dead’ establishes the five-piece as an innovative and urgent new voice among their contemporaries.

‘Living Dead’ will be launched at the Rosemount Hotel in North Perth Friday November 5th, with national touring around Australia and shows in South East Asia to follow.

Whichever way you look at it, Sleepwalker are too fucking good.’ - Owen Thomas, Fasterlouder.com.au
