The Scotch Of Saint James were once upon a time known as The Slim Pickins. Over the past 2 years, the Pickins had developed immeasurably – “As it stands, the door bitches say “you just missed an awesome act” if you show up after their set” (FasterLouder 17.06.08).

Infact the point had come where they have metamorphosed their direction and sound into something that was not akin to trends and so far removed from their origins that it was time to free themselves from the shackles of their previous moniker. Introducing The Scotch Of Saint James.

Singles ‘Thomas Thomas’ and ‘Killer Line’ off the gents debut EP “The Slim Pickins” (recorded/ produced Dave Parkin/ Blackbird, available through Winterborn/ Inertia) have been spun on Triple J, RTR, PBS, FBi, Twin Cities and Indie 103.1 FM.

Under their previous moniker, the gents have played with Dallas Crane, Violent Soho, Sugar Army, The Galvatrons, The Checks, The Pictures, The Exploders, Digger & The Pussycats as well as In The Pines 2008, WAMi Opening Party 2008 and Radiothon Closing Party 2007 to name but a few, as well as receiving a nomination in the WAM Song Of The Year 2007 (Piece Of The Pie).

As The Scotch you can see them soon w/ Children Collide, before they head off on an east coast tour of their own (08) and national tour (early 09) in support of their next release (yes another release is on the way already featuring Blue Plastic Spoon). All killer no filler New Years Eve show still to be announced…ssshhhh…
