Russian Winters have completed their debut album and released the first single, Pacific on June 13 2011.

Produced by Dave Parkin (Jebediah, Red Jezebel, Sons of Rico) at Blackbird Studios in Perth, the debut album will be released nationally in September 2011.

Russian Winters have pounded and shaped their sound into a new beast. First single, Pacific bursts out of the gates; a thick slab of dark-indie pop goodness that indicates the bold sound the band has achieved over the last 12 months of writing.

Old grunge faves, UK shoegaze flashbacks and American indie-folk harmony bands were thrown on the reference CD to compliment the Winters’ brooding structures, washy guitars, overdriven vocals and often sparse drum work on the 10 album tracks. The band achieved their goal of raw, crackly and often dreamy arrangements.

Russian Winters debut album will be released nationally through Firestarter Distribution on Sept 19. After a special return performance at the WAMi Festival in May, the band will continue their return to the live stage in Perth with a single launch for Pacific on July 8 2011.
