Rock & Rawhide Paw-ties in Perth to Help Shelter Dogs & Cats

Over 200,000 dogs and 65,000 cats are euthanised across Australia in kill shelters each year. The animals at these shelters suffer extreme stress from deafening noise levels, environmental conditions and many other factors that contribute to behavioural issues. Research has proven that toys not only reduce noise and stress levels but increases an animal’s adoptability by helping them express their real personalities to potential adopters.

Rock & Rawhide is a newly formed organisation which aims to reduce stress and increase adoptions for dogs and cats in shelters by providing toys and other items. R&R produces music, art and culinary events designed to bring together various communities to collectively make donations for animals at kill shelters. All contributions will buy tough chew toys, Kongs, Nylabones, rope toys, blankets and more, to relieve animal suffering by gifting animals in need with the comforts of home.

“Being from Perth, it seemed fitting to do a Rock & Rawhide show similar to what we are doing in New York, to benefit Perth dogs and cats. I hope the Perth animal community will get behind the show so we can deliver a lot of items to the shelters.” said Co-Founder .
