Rich Widow began their life in the Perth suburb of Como in late 2010 in accordance with Brayden Edward’s vision of a folk future. Edwards recruited the naturally gifted Owen de Marchi for lead guitar and the gritty northern bass of Tom Higgins for initial jam sessions.
Deciding to concentrate on vocals, Edwards called in Micheal Jane Hollick, who had met at a Brian Jonestown massacre gig earlier in the year, on acoustic guitar, The final piece of the puzzle was filled by the return from New Zealand of the highly skilled drumming of veteran Andy K. Marshall.
Rich Widow launched on to the live Perth music scene in January 2011, and are busy refining their craft and cementing themselves on the gigging circuit. Their blend of garage folk with dark undertones is a sound that is sure to stick in many a punters’ head.
