MØDULARMAN was born in the back alleys of Mt Lawley in the Autumn of ‘09. The band combines three forces of natural sound: Jordan on Guitars, Vocals, Noises, Gabriel on Percussion & Samples and Bradley on Bass. The sound is best described as an experimental, kinetic excursion in medium-fidelity sonic rock. It has long and strange instrumental parts tempered by the unorthodox singing of words and phrases. They have set out on journey into the untamed waters of tomorrow in search of the sound of now.

The Debut EP “ASYMMETRY” was launched in the summer of ’10 and the lead tracks PARTHENON and CEREBELLUM followed on from CATHARSIS in receiving generous airplay with RTR as well 3RRR and FBI in Sydney. “This beautiful debut from local three-piece MØDULARMAN establishes them as a band to watch. Like, seriously, I am at their next gig, and possibly every gig they ever play (schedule allowing). This exceptionally tender EP is a subtle blend of guitar, samples and heavenly vocals. The style is hard to pin down – it seems distasteful, not to mention lazy, to compare them to Radiohead, though there are clear references there. Above all, this is a band with a mature – if more than a little melancholy – approach to songwriting that defies analysis.”

A chain of live shows wooed audiences across the city, culminating with a stand out performance at RTRFM’s big one In The Pines 2010. They have been busy recording and are set to release a double A side so you will be hearing new things from MØDULARMAN.
