The Homicides

SCUM / PUKE / KILLER ROCK

THE are a buncha creeps. Loud, crude, distortion fuelled kamikaze buzzsaw muscle…Degenerate garage trash…These are the people your parents warned you about…The instinctive swagger of a group with its head in the gutter and its hands down your pants… their songs instantly memorable, hook driven, damned dirty souped up side-walk classics. Pure amplified amphetamine… Live shows incendiary. The crash through their sets like a tomcat onspeed, pushing themselves to the limit every time.

Formed around Feb 2002, (as The Dose), the band stormed in on the local scene quickly gaining a solid following, and a hard earned reputation for fast, short, sharp, and explosive sets. An uncalculated name change around Nov 2002 did little to diffuse the bands self-destructive infamy. The band has worked hard to build up its own base, tearing it up almost weekly at inner city venues like the Rosemount, Amplifier and the Hyde Park Hotel…

The are in the truest sense a live band, feeding off the tension and energy of the stage, the doing what know best, continue to fill dance floors and spread their distorted tones through heavy gigging, word of mouth, reputation and unmissable shows…

Their Debut EP “Consequences” Capturing the ragged live energy first time out - featuring killer tracks they still play to this day such as “Nervous” & “Hard Knocks”. “Consequeces” was well recieved by punters and critics alike and remains a - if not - the classic perth punk album of the last 10 years.

THE HOMICIDES returned to the salubrious surrounds of Bergerk Studios, again with the steady hands of Dr. Alien Smith at the controls, to belt out tracks for their full length album “Gimme Some More”.
“Gimme Some More” received strong praise in reviews from Australian publications such as Xpress, Drum Media & Blunt Magazine, and was the last release to feature Elvis on vocals, and Don Rat on guitars.

Shortly after an eastern States tour, singer Elvis left the band and Donny took over full time vocal duties. Anthony Burns (formely of Mickey Flash) joined the band as guitarist and Jan’2007 saw the release of The Homicides rawest bastard shit yet ; the abrassive motherfucker “666 PACK’7′EP.

Five years of hard living & hard playing without missing a fuckin beat has seen the band touring Melbourne twice in 2006 & Sydney a running total of four times , releasing a handful of CD’s & scoring national & international tours with the likes of The Exploited (UK), The Hippriests (DE) Poppin Mommas (VIC), Meatbeaters (S.A) and R.U.S.T (N.S.W) among many others…
Building on that hard worn rep’ for amphetamine charged classic Punk Rock & Roll and not-to-be-missed live sets, the Homicides received the 2008 WAMI Award for Best Punk Act.

In August 2008, Vertex Records released their latest recording “BLACK LEATHER REDNECK”. Recorded by Max Ducker of Cellar Studios and pressed on 12 inch vinyl, the EP Featured new and improved versions of tracks such as “lipstick” & “I fuck girls too young for me” & “I Hate You” along with new songs “Fried Chicken & Gasoline”, “Powder Rocket” and a cover of The Fuck Up’s “I think you shit”.

With a new album, and a 7 inch planned for 2009, as well as plans for an international tour and plenty more interstate shows on the cards- there’s no sign of The Homicides slowing down or shutting up.

THE HOMICIDES…catch ‘em at a dive near you.
