Frighteners

ALTERNATIVE

formed in 2008 at a school for music producing in Perth, Western Australia, after realizing that their real passion was in the creation of music, and the stage was where their hearts truly laid.

With their debut show at Amplifier Bar, and playing with numerous bands around Perth (Voltaire Twins, Arts Martial, Sneaky Weasel Gang, Emperors and Good Little Fox to name a few) as well as hosting their own shows, have had a busy start to their sonic adventure, and the response has been a welcome one

“...With a professionalism that can be admired, Frighteners slowed down the mood as they gave the audience a dose of indie alternative rock. From mellow melodic and catchy tunes to thick up-beat toe tappers these gentlemen made their 30 minute set fly by as their range of rhythms and sounds gave them a maturity beyond their years.” – DRUM MEDIA

Working with Al Smith from Bergerk! Studios and Cameron Parkin of Shazam fame, Frighteners debut single Forgive My Memory is an ode to the past; with eyes very much set on the future.

Creating an atmosphere that is reminiscent of early works by The Cure and David Bowie, a bittersweet affair, as dark as it is light, Forgive My Memory plays like that of the ocean, one minute calm and tranquil, the next a surge of power and emotion, taking the ears of the listener away with the musical tide.

With a debut EP and tour already in the works for mid 2011, Frighteners are forever moving forward, creating music that stands on its own two feet and with the right amount of conviction and charm needed for delivery, they assure that this creation is no Frankenstein.
