Dead Meadow & Pink Mountaintops play The Bakery in April

LA ‘70s-psych-inspired juggernaut team up with Vancouver legends for one hell of a double bill this Saturday, April 7 at The Bakery.

“Psych rock seems to be everywhere you look these days, but achieve distinction through their innate ability to combine canny songwriting with sonic adventurousness.” - Dusted Magazine

“I feel like McBean [] is going to show up at the Pitchfork office as a reaping angel, and I won’t be ready, and there won’t be time to repent.” - Pitchfork

Forming in Washington DC more than a decade ago over a shared love of ‘70s hard rock, ‘60s psychedelia and J.R.R. Tolkien, Dead Meadow’s five studio records deal in reverbed riffage and thudding stoner beats. With a live show that takes audiences on a feedback-soaked, expansive journey, Dead Meadow left Perth reeling after their first appearance in 2010.

Pink Mountaintops are the side project of Black Mountain’s Stephen McBean. Since 2004, the band has released three records – their self-titled debut, Axis of Evol, and Outside Love, juggling sounds from Smog-esque folk to crazed psych romps with the swagger of the Velvet Underground. Whatever the genre, Pink Mountaintops can be described as stunningly intense and brilliantly executed music, every bit as emotionally crushing as Black Mountain.

With supports come from Perth stoners and masters of the riff, The and local psych/fuzz specialists , this promises to be a jam-packed night of tripped out wonderment and psychedelic bliss.
