Review by Aiden Stingemore
You don’t hear this kind of thing on an EP. You don’t usually hear cohesion when bands test the waters, you hear blossoming immaturity and traces of what we can expect when their sound is honed on further efforts.
Forming in 2010, indie foursome TV Snow have crafted a gorgeous collection of songs that defies the group’s youth. Buoyed by a mature understanding of melody cocoons each number in a gooey softness making for the easiest of listens, but by no means does this imply a lack of substance. On the contrary, this is riddled with replay value – from the Blink 182 / The Mayan Factor/early Red Hot Chilli Peppers lovechild that is ‘I Will Dance’ to the group’s best impersonation of The Kooks on ‘Death & Blues’.
Varied, capturing and somehow original despite a sleeve stretched with influences, this is TV Snow on an LCD screen.
