Review By Aiden Stingemore
There’s something so unequivocally Australian about THE SIREN TOWER’S latest single, ‘Floods’. Not filtered through auto-tune and absolved of personality, a real Australian twang is pronounced in Amish lookalike Grant McCullochs’ vocals – what with his heady strine and rousing lyricism that seeks to ignite our inner patriot and raise collective extremities. Ripe with cheery melodies, lively percussive elements and an almost jam-influenced bridge , ‘Floods’ constitutes a resurgence in the long lost art of writing a good Aussie rock anthem.
