Black Birds

Alternative / Indie Rock

Newly formed (2010), are quickly shaping up to be one of the bands to watch in 2011, having already established a solid fan base after leaking 2 songs onto Facebook in December 2010 (breaking into Triple J Unearthed overall Top #50). Combining the elements of indie & alternative rock, deliver intricate, yet highly listenable songs with with hauntingly beautiful vocals and precision songwriting.

From their work in other groups (Atvena’s Wake, The Reserves, Arturo Chaos, Into The Sea) members are no strangers to the stage. A polished, and entertaining live band, will be playing the popular Oh Snap night on March 3rd (Black Betty’s nightclub) and are currently booking local dates.

A recently completed 4-track EP, recorded with Tristan Sturmer (I, Said the Sparrow, Village On The Moon, All Eyes On Saturn) showcases Black Birds’ ability to craft unique songs in a variety of styles, from the epic sounds of “The Fool” to the surf-influenced “Leaky Boats”, the haunting “Who’s Worrying About You” and, the uptempo and very danceable  “Aren’t We All”.
