PICA Bar and Teledex are giving you not one, but two opportunities to catch some of Perth’s most sought after solo acts. From 3pm on both Saturday the 19th and Friday the 25th of January, PICA Bar’s new back courtyard will be filled with the acoustic musings of TIMOTHY NELSON and BENNY MAYHEM.
Fresh from several months wandering the wilderness and touring on his own, Mayhem’s energetic acoustic tunes reflect both Irish rebel songs and colonial Australian folk. Best known in Perth as the front man of electrifying punk rock band Project Mayhem, Mayhem plays the kind of folk music that resonates strongest with rock’n’roll fans.
Award winning singer songwriter Timothy Nelson, known as much for his endearing Australian affectation as he is for his cloud of orange hair, will also be breathing life into the shady new spot. With raw, honest lyrics and timeless folk pop melodies, Nelson’s crisp, quirky, yet sentimental tunes are guaranteed to etch themselves into your memory long after he’s unplugged his guitar.
If that’s not enough, the smooth word twister TURIN ROBINSON, who pulls in punters like the pied piper every Friday afternoon, will also be performing on the 25th. Assuming his usual position out the front, Robinson’s diverse folksy, hip hop, rock n’ roll, rhythm and blues sound is set to please even the most pernickety party makers. So bring all your friends!
