A-E Bands — 15 April 2011
Arkayan

A good dose of rock’n’roll infused with airy guitar riffs, haunting melodies and lyrics that are sure to get you thinking, “this is . “

Since the Perth alternative rock band formed acoustically as a side project of perth prog/grunge rock bands Fractious and The Book of Lilith in 2008, have grown into an electrical smorgasbord of gyrating rhythms, malicious melodies and harmonies that sound like two dolphins wrestling.

Upon releasing their debut album “Away from the world” in November last year, Arkayan have spent their time expanding their fan base with a plethora of Perth based shows and a melbourne tour over the past 8 months. These included 2 support shows for melbourne bands Full Scale Revolution and Sydonia in July 2010 and January 2011. The album is currently available via iTunes.

Drawing influences from alternative rock / metal genres and alcoholic beverages, Arkayan come across sounding like a mixture of Thrice, Bush, Porcupine Tree, Chevelle and a mexican wrestling midget all trying to ride the same Shetland pony.
